BLOWING your nose is not an activity you usually imagine would get you injured.
But a woman in the UK reported to hospital after she blew her nose so hard it caused her eye to swell to the size of a golf ball.

The 32-year-old woman was treated at the emergency department of Leicester Royal Infirmary University Hospital. She told doctors there that her right eyelid ballooned immediately after she had forcefully blown her nose a few hours earlier.
The doctors then performed a series of tests that revealed the woman was suffering from “orbital emphysema”, a swelling caused by air forced into the soft tissues around the eye.

According to the British Medical Journal (BMJ) report on the case the condition can result in blindness in the worst cases. The BMJ said the condition is usually caused by a trauma, such as a blow to the face.
Scans showed the woman had a fracture in the bone in her nose, which doctors said may have also been caused by the forceful nose blowing.
The woman, who was not identified, was given antibiotics and made a full recovery
