A LUXURY two-storey waterfront home with its own marina berth is the last thing you would expect to be classified as ‘retirement living’.
But the Riversong design, a $1.325 million residence on offer at Vision by Halcyon over 50s community on Hope Island, has set a new standard in the seniors housing market.
The home design has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, second kitchenette and its own lift.
Designed by DC8 Studio, the home features a glass-encased ground floor living area which opens to a waterfront alfresco.
The guest and master suites on the second storey have private balconies with water views.
Robert and Pam Jones were the first to purchase one of the limited Riversong designs and will move in when the home is constructed next year.
We are moving from Riverlinks in Helensvale which is also on the water, and we wanted to keep the same waterfront lifestyle,” Mr Jones said.
“We have two boats and being able to moor them in front of the house is something quite unique to the Vision by Halcyon community.
“From our position at Hope Island we will have uninterrupted, deep water access to the Broadwater.
“The home itself is well-sized and means we don’t have to downsize. Outdoor spaces are paved so while quite large, the home is very low maintenance.”
Project director Scott Ng said choosing a home was never a “one size fits all process”.
“We trialled the two-storey layouts at Halcyon Waters and Halcyon Landing and both were well
received.
“That told us that the market didn’t want a cookie cutter product, but various options and layouts at various price points.
“It’s a model that has worked well for us across our South East Queensland communities.”
Once complete, Vision by Halcyon will have 88 homes, marina, floating boat house and lifestyle and aquatic precinct.
The third release of homes is selling at Hope Island, priced from $579,000. Waterfront dwellings are priced from $919,000 to $1.325 million.
