EMMYS 2015: Winners, nominees, opening jokes and more

EMMYS 2015: Winners, nominees, opening jokes and more
IT’S television’s biggest night. And we’re bringing you rolling coverage of the winners, losers and jokes from the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
After an epic recorded opening that poked fun at the endless list of TV shows we’re supposed to have seen, host Andy Samberg hit the stage for his surprisingly lacklustre opening monologue.

And it wasn’t long before a Bill Cosby joke was made.
Reflecting on the big names that have hosted the awards before him, Samberg quipped: “ ... Robert Blake and Bill Cosby ... oh god I gotta get outta here!”
Demonstrating the new way they plan to get winners to wrap their speeches, Jane Lynch came on stage as the “mean nun” from Game of Thrones — ringing a bell and chanting “shame, shame!”.

A Donald Trump joke was thrown in for good measure and True Detective got a snide mention when Samberg brought up the shows that have ended their run.
“And we also said goodbye to True Detective ... even though it’s still on the air,” he said about the cable series.
The reviews of Samberg’s turn at the hosting gig were mixed.
One viewer tweeted it was like “watching an awkward teenager tell jokes at his bar mitzvah”. Another wrote they’d laughed harder during “one minute of Donald Trump on CNN”.
