Naomi Watts’ wardrobe is even worse than her acting

AUSTRALIANS love a successful export. As soon as someone gains recognition for their work overseas we preface their name with ‘Our’ and take a weird parochial pride in their achievements.
So it comes as something of a shock when an export who we perceive as universally liked is slammed by the foreign press.

‘Our’ Naomi Watts has been sledged by New York Post fashion writer Lindsay Putnam, who writes “you can count on one hand the good films Naomi Watts has starred in over the years, and the same goes for her red carpet outfits.”
Watts was given the seal of approval on home soil by Vogue Australia, who placed her on their October issue.

She goes on to state, “not only has Watts accepted dubious acting roles of late, but it appears her fashion sense is in bad taste, too.
“The actress’ choice of a dreadful pink Vionnet suit for the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of ‘About Ray’ is questionable, to say the least, but turns out to be a bright spot compared to the wretched neon green-and-black lace Fausto Puglisi frock that looks as though it got lost on the way to an ice-skating competition.”
It wasn’t just Watts who was slammed by Putney. Heidi Klum was also sent to the fashion sin bin for the outfit below. “We get it, Heidi — you’re 42 and still smokin’ hot,” writes Putnam. “But hopefully, at next year’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards, you’ll opt for a dress that isn’t simply a bunch of fabric tacked on to some lingerie
