Kangaroo Bay skate park ready for take-off as Clarence City Council awards tender for $1.14m project
The Clarence City Council has accepted a tender for the Kangaroo Bay facility, with construction due to start next week.The idea of a skate park was initially raised in a petition from local young people.


Consultation was then conducted with sporting clubs, the council’s youth group, the DeparThe State Government contributed $140,000 towards the project, which is part of a multi-million revamp of Bellerive’s waterfront precinct.
Acting Clarence Mayor Jock Campbell said the skate park would deliver an important social benefit for the youth of the city.
“This is a high-quality facility on a national scale,” Ald Campbell said.
“We have received many positive comments so far, particularly from skateboarding bodies who believe this facility could host future national events.”tment of Education and Rosny College.
